I had just copied and read this link (below) and was trying to decide a number of factors, when we lost our net, again, so I suppose throwin some random thoughts out on the table and lookin at the contents while I wait is a decent course of action.
At this point in our national political development no navigable bipartisan path for moving forward exists. There’s no simple political solution for the impasse we’ve stubbornly and selfishly allowed to develop.
To me our two-party system has become so divisive, so bitter, so intractable, so intransigent that it more closely resembles a couple well on the road to divorce than a partnership of mature adults working to make things better for the entire family.
I don’t see reconciliation in the future, only continued “irreconcilable differences.” And true to form, if something can be taken to extremes and provide an example of how NOT to do it, California is leading the way into the courts with cities suing the state and seeking restraining orders based on the mulish and ruinous obsession with sanctuary for parasites.
Here’s an interesting take on that divorce idea:
The people elected or appointed to serve us, to protect us, to guide us are so blithely ignorant of the real-world everyday experiences of half the population that they come up with stuff like Pelosi does.
She has announced that if Democrats can get control of the House this fall, they’ll repeal the GOP tax-reform law. Her reason? The Republicans passed it “in the dark of night with the speed of light.” Gee, Nan . . . do you HEAR yourself? Remember the ACA and “we have to pass it so that we can find out what is in it”?
Sheeesh! Dems in control of both houses and Pelosi’s claw on the gavel would signal the end of life as we know it and the birth of a new nation conceived in wealth-redistribution and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created to serve central government
And as for our FUTURE leadership, consider the erstwhile darling of the left, David “Camera” Hogg. The little dictator wannabe not only insists the 2nd Amendment be scrapped, but he uses Mexico as an example of safety through gun-control laws.
His ill-formed syllogism is essentially this:
Guns are bad
Gun control is good
Mexico has strict gun-control laws
Therefore, Mexico is safe
So go there for spring break instead of Florida.
Let's make a deal DO NOT come to Florida for spring break unless gun legislation is passed. These politions won't listen to us so maybe the'll listen to the billion dollar tourism industry in FL. #neveragain
Jeeez, why not Chicago? Y’know . . . if you ask a liberal why gun-free zones, such as Chicago, have such high murder rates, you’ll hear, “It’s because people get around the law by bringing in guns from places with lenient gun laws or no effort to enforce them.”
Makes ya wonder why those places with lenient gun laws don’t have high murder rates, don’t it?
(I’d give the link to Hogg’s blather, but I can’t remember where I found the article. It’s gettin kinda dated anyway and the little shit gives me douchebumps.)
Clearly one of Soros’ operatives has hacked the little jerk’s brain and installed some ransomware. And it’s kinda obvious that years ago one of ‘em got into Nancy’s cerebrum and found the “Off” switch.
And how much longer is Mueller going to continue rummaging through the dead files of the Trump campaign looking for something that will stick. I mean, good grief! If we want an investigation into fraud and sleaze and “collusion” with foreign entities, why haven’t we appointed a Special Persecutor to trot out the deceit bordering on sedition and the corruption and the outright theft of Hillary and the Clinton “Foundation”?
I think too many people, especially in “journalism” and Congress, want to know more about the private lives of Trump and various Hollywood celebrities than about civics and government and how to keep from completely destroying ourselves with deficit spending for cradle-to-grave entitlements.
Well, mid-terms are only a hurricane season away, and if even a little bit of the prediction about a “blue wave” comes to pass, Trump will be forced, as did his predecessor, to rule by decree with his fone and his pen.
Hell, elections in most countries, even ours, are a grand illusion of choice. Usually fewer than half the age-eligible people in the US bother to show up, and when they do they aren’t prepared to vote for anything more than some single hot-button issue or simple candidate name recognition.
Voter fraud definitely exists, on both sides, with the Democrats just much better at it than Republicans. Other than reports about various cities or counties or precincts having more votes than eligible registered voters and the perverse liberal objection to voter I.D. requirements, I think what bothers me most is that absentee ballots, particularly those from deployed military units, are seldom counted.
