My answer to the first one was that I wouldn’t have the job under any circumstances except absolute power. By Forest Hunter I had just copied and read this link (below) and was trying to decide a number of factors, when we lost our net, again, so I suppose throwin some random thoughts out on the table and lookin at the contents while I wait is a decent course of action.   At this point in our national political development no navigable bipartisan path for moving forward exists.  There’s no simple political solution for the impasse we’ve stubbornly and selfishly allowed to develop.   To me our two-party system has become so divisive, so bitter, so intractable, so intransigent that it more closely resembles a couple well on the road to divorce than a partnership of mature adults working to make things better for the entire family. Basically slow and unobtrusive, it has steadily replaced the “white” population of several western states by two factors: migration from Central America and fecundity (birth rate). Today the Latino population outnumbers the Europeos in California, and Latinos/Hispanics are the 2nd largest ethnic group in the entire country at nearly 18%, blacks being 3rd at under 14% (see the 3rd block of the census.gov link in comments). The future of the American Southwest can be seen in the California schools, where 25% of students identify as “white” and more than 50% as Latino/Hispanic. My criterion for differentiating between Latinos and Hispanics is that if you were born in this hemisphere and are predominantly indigenous racially and a native Spanish speaker, you’re Latino, whether from Chile, Guatemala, Cuba, Mexico, Canada, or the US. The more than 50 Ghanaians who tried to gain entry to Australia under the guise of covering the Commonwealth Games as journalists were caught out when they were unable to answer questions about sport. The deportees, although in possession of genuine traveling documents, were arrested and detained after they failed to answer the sports-related questions which they should ordinarily be familiar with. The country’s Deputy Sports Minister, Pious Enam Hadidze, says an investigation has been opened into the development. However, he denied the ministry had anything to do with helping them get the visas in the first place - which Africa Live reported earlier here. The denial came after one of the deportees told Ghana-based radio station, Atinka FM, that officials of the Ghana Olympics Sports Committee and the Ministry of Sports were paid between $2,000 and $5,000 (£1,400 - £3,550) to have their visas processed as journalists for the Games.
