Analysis Of The (" Balls of Steel") State Of The Union message - Pacific South Morning Journal

The pressure on the president was enormous; the message imperative for the American people to hear. Seemingly unaffected by the childish expressions and gestures of Pelosi and with balls of steel President Trump rolled into his most powerful, unwavering address to date.

It was his third State of the Union address; the timing  served as a fresh start for his re-election bid as his Senate impeachment trial nears a close with a likely acquittal in store. Trump's speech started with chants of “four more years” from Republicans and ended with what appeared to be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripping up a printed copy of his remarks. What a tactless and graceless move unworthy even of the most partson of Democrats , with the possible exception of the squad. Only the mentality of persons that would scream "impeach that Motherf******r would also tear the president's speech in half , on camera following the president's close and in the face of a visibly shocked VP.
Indeed everyone was shocked who was not in the know in terms of the planned embarrassment. This is the measure of the scorched earth divide in the United States today..

President Trump opened with these words:
"My fellow citizens, three years ago, we launched the great American comeback. Tonight I stand before you to share the incredible results. Jobs are booming. Incomes are soaring. Poverty is plummeting. Crime is falling. Confidence is surging. And our country is thriving and highly respected again. America's enemies are on the run. America's fortunes are on the rise. America's future is blazing bright.
The years of economic decay are over."
adding unapologetically..
"Our agenda is relentlessly pro-worker, pro- family, pro-growth, and, most importantly, pro-American."
Despite impeachment, the economy has been a major boon for President Trump. A recent indicator of that is the latest Gallup poll, which has Trump’s rating at a personal best of 49 percent. One of the items Gallup pointed to as a factor in Trump’s personal best approval rating: Americans have the highest confidence in the economy since 2000, according to Gallup.

Trump concludes on this note:
"This nation is our canvas and this country is our masterpiece. We look at tomorrow and see unlimited frontiers just waiting to be explored. Our brightest discoveries are not yet known. Our most thrilling stories are not yet told. Our grandest journeys are not yet made. The American age, the American epic, the American adventure has only just begun. Our spirit is still young. The sun is still rising. God's grace is still shining. My fellow Americans, the best is yet to come. Thank you.
Thank you very much."

It was beautiful and inspiring and although was not a speech which attempted the unification of the parties , which would have been a losing proposition , it was articulate, comprehensive and honorable which held nothing but pride in America and loyalty to all Americans..

How Brexit turned the UK German

Industrial strategy, devolution and public investment. Stian Westlake offers up a fairy tale. of 2017. Share: When Britain voted to leave the European Union, few people expected it would result in the UK becoming more like Germany, the country that runs the European show. But that’s what ended up happening, and it was in 2017 that the process really began. Industrial strategy was the first step. Theresa May’s government decided that Britain’s ever-increasing trade deficit was a luxury that the UK, as an independent nation, could no longer afford. Already in 2016 Philip Hammond had begun to deviate from decades of Treasury orthodoxy by announcing £23 billion of investments into infrastructure, skills and research. Over the course of 2017, the UK proved the Treasury view wrong by investing effectively in downstream R&D, identifying its real industrial strengths, focusing big government budgets like health and energy on innovation, and sowing the seeds for a revival of productive bu...
