Controversial billionaire George Soros, accused of destabilizing governments and funding extreme movements, announced Monday, July 13, that he will donate $220 million to groups focused on “racial justice.”
In a statement, the Open Society Foundations, the founder’s philanthropic organization, detailed $150 million in five-year grants to black-owned racial justice groups.
The other $70 million will go to “more immediate efforts to advance racial justice.”
The groups that will receive the funding are expected to include Black Voters Matter and Repairers of the Breach.
The announcement comes after public records revealed that Soros will double his funding for the Democratic Party in the current presidential campaign, as part of his effort to prevent U.S. President Donald Trump from being re-elected.
According to Breitbart News, Soros donated US$40 million to the Democratic Party’s Political Action Committees (PACs), double the amount he donated in the 2016 elections, when then-candidate Trump beat Hillary Clinton.
Soros has been denounced on multiple occasions for trying to overthrow democratic governments by financing different campaigns and extreme movements.
In fact, he was recently accused of financing the terrorist group antifa, which became violently involved in the protests that took place in the United States after the death of African American George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police on May 25.
“In many places, it appears the violence is planned, organized, and driven by anarchistic and far left extremists,” said U.S. Attorney General William Barr, naming antifa but not mentioning Soros.
Political activist Candace Owens also referred to the issue in one of her tweets.
“As he did with antifa, Democrat George Soros has these thugs on payroll,” Owens wrote on Twitter, referring to violent groups that caused riots in Minneapolis and which, as it became known later, were not from there.
“He is funding the chaos via his Open Society Foundation,” Owens said.
Soros, through an immense network of NGOs, was found funding campaigns for the decriminalization of abortion, the imposition of gender ideology in schools, the legalization of drugs, and secessionist movements like the one in Catalonia.
The multimillionaire rose to prominence on Sept. 16, 1992, after carrying out an aggressive financial operation against the British pound and causing it to collapse. This episode, known as ‘Black Wednesday’, meant the departure of this currency from the European exchange, and cleared the way for a single currency that would definitively annex Europe: The euro.
